The shims are manufactured from wolverine and cut to shape and applied to the backing plate of the Brake pads prior to fitting to help eliminate any noise issues (should the pad be unshimmed). When used in conjunction with Mintex CeraTec silicon based lubricant, most brake noise related issues will be eradicated.
